Roz Sturgill
Therapist/Online & In-person

My name is Michelle, however, I tend to go by Rozurial/Roz and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. Growing up I was part of a military family that moved to North Carolina in 2003. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2016 with my Bachelor degree in Psychology, and then from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2025 with my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have about 2 years of experience working in the mental health field with a primary focus on children and adolescents between the ages of 5 to 19. During this time, I have worked with military families and survivors of trauma including but not limited to sexual assault, domestic violence, and community violence. I also have experience with ADHD, anxiety, depression, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, self-harm, suicidal ideation, anger management, and working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

My therapeutic approach primarily revolves around being Person-Centered and using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. However, I believe that each client is unique and therefore am open to using an eclectic approach to best serve each of my clients. In addition, I have knowledge in Play Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also have an interest to explore Internal Family Systems and Brain spotting moving forward.

Outside of work, I enjoy watching horror or superhero movies, writing stories, cosplaying, playing video games, and spending time with friends and family.

I look forward to working with future clients, meeting them where they are on their journey, and walking their path alongside them.
